Frequently asked questions
Everything about privacy, formats and how the blurring works.
Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
No. Face detection and blurring run entirely in your browser using WebAssembly. Your images and video never leave your device and are never sent to a server.
Is it good for GDPR / privacy compliance?
Because processing is fully local, no personal data is transmitted or stored by us. That makes it a strong fit for anonymizing images before sharing under GDPR and similar policies. (This isn’t legal advice.)
What can I blur?
You can cover eyes + mouth, eyes only, mouth only, or the whole face. Effects include blur, pixelate, mosaic, black/white bars, noise, invert and emoji stickers.
What image and video formats are supported?
Images: JPG, PNG, WebP and BMP. Video: common browser formats like MP4 and WebM. Exported photos are PNG; exported video is WebM.
What is free, and what needs Premium?
Blurring, pixelating, censoring and hiding faces in photos is free and unlimited, with no watermark and no sign-up, including batches of up to 5 photos at once and live camera. Video export is a Premium feature. Premium also removes ads and unlocks unlimited batch, full-HD and 4K, and a commercial-use license.
Does it work on multiple faces?
Yes, up to five faces per image or video frame are detected and anonymized at once.
How accurate is the detection?
It uses on-device AI face detection that runs in your browser. It’s robust for clear, front-facing faces; very small, blurry or heavily turned faces may be missed.
